Thanks so much for your thoug...Hi Ginger and Lisa!

Thanks so much for your thoughtful and thought-provoking comments!

I'm especially delighted, Lisa, that this post allows you to feel seen and heard.

It is hard when we look at what we don't have - like the financial stability - but it's equally true that your passion for design and being creative is worth the trade-off.

I try to remember the Zig Ziglar quote, "Obstacles are things we see when we take our eyes off our goals."

When I focus on *this* moment I have to achieve my dreams, I feel satisfied and fulfilled.

And, Ginger, I LOVE the idea that BITL will continue to build a community of support for women who decide it's worth the fears and doubts to pursue one's dreams!Staceyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04441106582035107314noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5966206814780043623.post-63849343692024801342011-08-02T13:07:05.557-07:002011-08-02T13:07:05.557-07:00Thanks for your insights Lisa. In fact, the majority of small businesses are started by women. Between 1997 and 2006, businesses fully women-owned, or majority-owned by women, grew at nearly twice the rate of all U.S. firms (42.3% vs. 23.3%). However, little support exists for working mothers - whether or not they own their own business. BITL is striving to build a community of support that can help women - be both fit and fearless. So please keep the comments coming - it makes a difference to know you are supported by other mothers.Ginger Garnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03460880245418445766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5966206814780043623.post-63418307141589874412011-08-02T12:40:59.051-07:002011-08-02T12:40:59.051-07:00Great post Ginger. I've been chasing my passion for the past 5 years and it still does not pay my bills...yet. Many days I have wanted to give up and accept that perhaps I am not supposed to take this path and just be happy with what I have. I've thought its not supposed to be THIS HARD! I mean five years is a LONG time although I continue to learn and grow. Something inside me just won't let me quit though. I have had a love for design and being creative my entire life. Its within every fiber of my being. I am so glad I am not the only one who has doubts and fears when persuing her dreams.
~LisaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5966206814780043623.post-22325304085144366322011-08-01T10:45:45.291-07:002011-08-01T10:45:45.291-07:00Stacey's post resonates with my own experience...Stacey's post resonates with my own experience - I quit my job in conventional medicine in the late 90's in order to start www.profesionalyogatherapy.org. It is a move that has been a wonderful journey - taking me all over North America teaching health care professionals about holistic medicine through medical yoga. I highly recommend jumping off with both feet - have the courage to swim to a new shore. You won't regret it.Ginger Garner MPT, ATChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15017409030741759837noreply@blogger.com
