January 14, 2010 1:30 pm - The US Government is only allowing US military flights to land in Haiti. In addition, all Americans are being ordered out of Haiti and are being flown to Miami. Our mission teams must leave Haiti, unfortunately, but you can still assist those in need by making donations as posted in my last blog.
At this time, all supplies that are collected via your donations will be stored at UMCOR until final arrangements are made to get them into Haiti.
Thanks to the Jacksonville Daily News, Carteret County News-Times, and other media outlets for covering and lending support to our local Haiti Initiative efforts so far.
